Sabrine Maui was born in Manila, the Philippines. She was delivered by her mother's father, with the assistance of two aunts; most of her mother's family are doctors and nurses. She was a tomboy while growing up in the Philippines, participating in lots of sports including track, tennis, volleyball, and basketball. She moved with her family to Hawaii at the age of 15, where she graduated from high school by the time she was 17 years old.
