SaMRA (Save Men's Rights Association) is a Punjab-based NGO registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act. The head office of the organisation is located at Mohali, near state capital Chandigarh. The organisation works and contributes towards the men's rights movement in India and is a part of SIF Movement. The organisation works with various other like-minded organisations for raising awareness about men rights.

Save Men`s Right Association (SaMRA) is an organization established in 2014 and is registered as a "Non Profit NGO" under "The Punjab Societies Registration Act, 1960″ with reg. no. 214 0f 2014 and is head quartered in Mohali. Save Men`s Right Society strives to protect "men`s right" and promote "gender equality". SaMRA is creating awareness about men`s right in the society. The owners of this NGO are themselves victims of the biased family related laws. SaMRA creats awareness about misuse and abuse of 498a and DV Act through press conference, PIL’s, Media campaign, demonstration, Distribution of pamphlets etc.

The organization is run by a team of victims for the victims.

Aims & Objectives

  • To promote the need for family harmony in the society.
  • To create awareness for the gender equal society. A society where a person is not differentiated by gender through study of official data, seminar and press conference etc.
  • To help victims of gender biased laws such as 498a, 304B, Crpc125, Domestic violence act etc.
  • To create awareness in the government, police, judiciary that gender oriented laws are highly misused hence those who misuse should be punished.
  • To bring 498a under civil law and make it bailable.
  • No arrest in case of these gender biased laws without the written permission of the police officer of the rank of ACP/DCP.
  • To conduct studies for the issues such as violence against men, effect of misuse of gender biased laws on society and make these laws gender neutral.
  • Collect data through RTI (Right to information Act) regarding misuse of the gender biased laws.
  • To create awareness in the government, police, judiciary that whereas there are multiple forums and Act’s for the women to seek help and relief but no forum for men to seek help in case of distress due to gender biased laws.
  • Abolish same relief under different act. E.g. a woman can seek maintenance under DV Act, Crpc 125 and HMA (Hindu Marriage Act).
