They mostly produce products for water sterilization to the local market:

  • Sodium hydroxide, also known as Caustic Soda.
  • Chlorine gas cylinders.
  • Sodium hypochlorite, the sodium salt of hypochlorous acid.
  • Hydrochloric Acid, a clear, colorless, highly pungent solution of hydrogen chloride in water.
  • SYSACCO during the Syrian Civil War

Sysacco was taken by rebel forces in August 2012. The plant then had approximately 400 yellow steel barrels stored, each holding one ton of chlorine gas. In December 2012, rebel fighters from Al-Nusra Front took over the plant. The factory was not in normal operation in April 2013, but the rebel’s kept the generator running by supplying 200 liters (44 imp gal; 53 U.S. gal) of fuel a day.
