SPHAIR - Exploring Aviation Talent is a training platform for the Swiss Air Force. Its role is primarily to teach and select the pre-military candidates for the education as parascouts or pilots.

SPHAIR for pilots

For aspiring military pilot SPHAIR the completion of the program is mandatory in Switzerland, in individual cases, exceptions may be made. [1] The aptitude test consists of several stages and in addition to a health examination includes performance and knowledge tests. It follows from existence of a two-week flight training, which is carried out in cooperation with civilian flight schools.

SPHAIR parachuting courses

In preparation for the 42-week military training to parascouts, first jump experience can be made in the SPHAIR program in two two-week courses and the civilian parachutist license acquired. Then follows the aptitude test in which a health examination and psychological evaluation is determined based on past performance, whether the candidate is suitable for parascouts recruit school.
