History
SCHIN was formed in 1993 as an academic research organization within the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. It has established itself as a centre of large scale, evidence-based, knowledge authoring and many other health informatics projects which are at the heart of the NHS information services. It was established as a private company, limited by guarantee, in 2001. SCHIN is based in Bede House, All Saints Business Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne.
