Early life
Graves was born in San Diego, California. Graves is an avid surfer and grew up competing for his high school surf team at Horizon High School. Graves graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Career
Graves served as Uber's CEO and General Manager from February 2010 to December 2010 and his CEO role was replaced by one of Uber's founders, Travis Kalanick. After that he served as the SVP of Global Operations at Uber till August 10, 2017. He was often referred to as 'No. 2' and is very close to Uber's former CEO Kalanick. He is on the board of directors of the company.
