Ruso is a city in McLean County, North Dakota, United States. The population was four at the 2010 census, making Ruso the least populous incorporated place in North Dakota.

Ruso was founded in 1906 and named either after a Russian word meaning "south of us" or from the first two letters in both of the words "South Russia," which was the homeland of many area settlers.

Geography

Ruso is located at 47°50′16″N 100°55′58″W (47.837812, -100.932834).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.25 square miles (0.65 km2), all of it land.

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 4 people, 3 households, and 1 family residing in the city. The population density was 16.0 inhabitants per square mile (6.2/km2). There were 3 housing units at an average density of 12.0 per square mile (4.6/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 100.0% White.
