Ruchira kamboj ambassador unesco 38th session world heritage
Ruchira Kamboj is India's High Commissioner to South Africa. Kamboj is the former Chief of Protocol of India, the only first and only woman to be appointed to the post. She alo served as India's Ambassador & Permanent Representative to UNESCO.

Personal life

Kamboj is the daughter of an Indian Army officer. She attended school in Delhi, Vadodara and Jammu. She was educated at the Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie and the Delhi University. Kamboj also earned a degree from the London School of Economics.

Kamboj is married to businessman Diwakar Kamboj and has a daughter. Kamboj is fluent in French language.
Career

Kamboj is an Indian Foreign Service officer of the 1987 batch. She served as Third Secretary at the Indian Embassy at Paris from 1989 to 1991. Kamboj served at the Indian High Commission in Mauritius and at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. She headed the Consulate General of India, Cape Town.

Ruchira Kamboj served as the Director/ Deputy Secretary (Foreign Service Personnel) and Under-Secretary (Europe West) in the Ministry of External Affairs. From September 2013 to 15 July 2017, Kamboj was India's Ambassador & Permanent Representative to UNESCO.
