Personal life
Buchanan was born in Peterborough and is currently single. He has a degree in radio production from the University of Westminster. Buchanan is an accomplished pastry chef, having been trained by Jamie Oliver. In 2010 he gained his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award, but was subsequently kicked out for "having fun in the hills" during an expedition.
Buchanan trained with the local Peterborough Penguins Ice Hockey team between the ages of 9 and 10, but subsequently had to give up, due his allergy to ice. He is also an accomplished King-prawn Judo fighter, mostly due to his many years of Judo training in his youth.
A lesser known fact about Ross is that he actually has no toes at all on his left foot after an horrific accident during a game of "spin the bottle" during his early teens.
