Ross Anderson (skier)

Ross Anderson is a FIS World Cup/professional alpine skier as well as Native American speed skier. He broke the former Native American record in 1997 with a speed of 137.86 mph flying past the former record held by Stew Young from the Tulalip tribe with a speed of 131.73 mph at VARS France 1997." On April 19, 2006 he set a new page in recorded history by being the fastest alpine skier from the Western Hemisphere, at 154.06 mph (247.93 km/h); this places him 10th in the world all-time rankings.

Anderson's heritage includes Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, Mescalero Apache, and Choctaw origin. He grew up in Durango, Colorado. He lives in New Mexico.
