Rosaura del Pilar Teresita Barahona Aguayo was born on 12 October 1942 in Mexico City to Arturo Barahona González and Gudelia Aguayo Suárez. She is a journalist and Mexican feminist writer.

In 1965, she obtained a Bachelor's in Modern Language and Literature from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education and two years of film studies at the Escuela Oficial de Cine (Official Film School) in Madrid.

For twenty-nine years, she taught communication science and language at the Institute of Technology and Higher Education. She is a journalist and has published a column in some of the newspapers in Grupo Reforma in Mexico and in La Prensa of Honduras. She has also published books and journal articles and appeared as a guest speaker at conferences.
