Rosa Galvez is a Canadian Senator from Quebec. At the time of her appointment, she was a professor at Laval University in Montreal and head of the university's Department of Civil Engineering and Water Engineering. Her academic research has focussed on the area of pollution. Her appointment to the Senate was announced on November 2, 2016. Galvez was born in Peru, and earned her Master of Science (M.Sc.), Environmental Engineering Technology and then her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, both from McGill University.
