Franklin, who is African American had been a registered nurse before becoming an elected representative.
Education
Franklin is a graduate of Good Samaritan Waverly Hospital School of Nursing in Columbia, South Carolina; University of Puget Sound, Pacific Lutheran University and holds a women’s Health Care Specialist Certificate from the University of Washington Gynecorp Training Program.
Personal
Franklin and her husband James have been married for sixty-two years and have three children and five grandchildren.
