Leadership and Background

In 2014, the company was founded by three IIT Delhi Alumni- Mayank Bhangadia, Avinash Saxena and Kaushal Shubhank. The trio first incepted the gifting platform Giveter, and it was while working on Giveter that they realised how much time fashionistas spend on browsing through products and checking out trends of their choice online. This led to the idea of incepting a curated network for fashion lovers. And hence, Roposo was conceptualised in July 2014. The app was launched in April 2015

Funding

In 2015 the company had its first round of funding through Tiger Global that led a $5 million Series A round in the company and $10 million in 2016. It has recently raised another $5 million from Bertelsmann India Investments. This funding was a part of Series B round. The company has raised $21 million in three rounds of funding, including seed funding from Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal.

Technology

The fashion platform has some elementary features such as a collection of Indianised stickers, seller chat for easy business, the 15-second video stories, style check-in, video cover profile and photo filters. The photo and video feature enable a user to visualise the item well before hitting on the buy button. International tech-giant Apple featured Roposo as one of the top-rated Indian apps in August, 2016.

The company claims to have 3 million active users, 200 celebrities, designers, stylists and 6000 brands from across 500 stores on its platform.
