Business ventures
In 2013 Hose co-founded coins.ph (where he is also CEO), was a founding partner at Innovation Endeavors (in 2009) and a co-founder of TokBox Inc. (2007), a company acquired by Telefonica. Coins.ph was co-founded with Runar Petursson. He wrote the World StartUp Crowdsourced Report on the Philippines.
Hose left Silicon Valley, making his home in the Philippines so that he could “do something for the emerging markets.”

Coins.ph was developed for the Philippines since many of the citizens there do not have bank accounts. It enables “unbanked” people living there to trade. Since Phoebe Magdirila (a tech industry journalist living in the Philippines) pointed out “the majority of people [living there] don’t have bank accounts or credit cards,” e-commerce is a problem. Hose’s Bitcoin might just be the solution.
In May 2014, Coins.ph organized and hosted a Bitcoin hackathon which was likely the first one ever to be held in Asia. According to Hose, this was organized in order to “get engineers acquainted with Bitcoin, learn more about it, and get to know how to use it so they can come up with great ideas.” Coins4Cause won, with a system enabling people to use their bitcoins to donate to any charity through their Twitter handle.
Education
Hose has a Bachelors and Masters from Cornell University in Computer Science, graduating top of his class. In his Masters he focused on practical applications of Artificial Intelligence.
