Romin Zuberi Hindi: रोमिन ज़ुबैरी Urdu: رومن زبیری (born 8 July 1995) is an Indian singer whose songs have been featured in Hindi cover albums. He was born and brought up in Meerut (Uttar Pradesh, India). He completed his schooling from Dewan Public School, Meerut, and got 90% marks in class 12th overall. He got the highest marks in music in India. He is pursuing Engineering in Computer Science. He has written a novel that has not been released yet.

Childhood and family history

His father Dr. Kamran H Zuberi is a senior journalist with national and international media, his mother is Dr. Huma Zuberi is a social activist. Romin Zuberi is best known for cover of Mohammed Rafi songs and Tum Hi Ho song from Aashiqui 2.

He started his modelling career in 1996. His photo has been published in children's alphabets book as "B" for "boy". His calendar was published in 2001 by a leading publication of western Uttar Pradesh. His several interviews and articles were published in leading newspapers. Zuberi is famous in his hometown for professional playback singing and classical songs.

He is a leading playback singer and has sung songs in many languages other than Hindi, like English, Urdu. He began singing when he was only five years of age. He began with mostly singing Mohammed Rafi's songs stage performances. Romin inherited music from his grandfather Prof. Dr. F.H Zuberi who completed three year degree in Vocal and Classical Violin from Sangeet Samaaj Meerut in the 1950s.

His grandfather Prof. Dr. F.H Zuberi is retired from the post of Head of the department (Physics) from D.N. Degree College Meerut. Romin's father knows to play Harmonium, flute and he sings.

Romin's grandfather invented India's first tape recorder in the 1950s for which he got prize from the Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. His name was published in the science magazine which was published from the Prime Minister's Office named Our Scientists of Tomorrow.

Romin's father invented the world's first electronic compass in 1980s for which he was awarded by different government organisations. Romin's mother Dr. Huma Zuberi has also completed Visharad and Prabhakar in Vocal Classical Music. Romin took part in different music contests in his growing up years and got laurels in state and national level competitions. When 16, He shifted base to Delhi to pursue his singing career seriously. Romin has travelled and performed in several concerts.

Association with Sunita Saxena

Dr. Sunita Saxena is an Indian classical vocalist belonging to the music tradition of Indore Gharana. She belongs to the same tradition of music that was adopted and enhanced by Ustad Sameer Khan, Ustad Amir Khan and Dr. Sunita's guru Dr. Premprakash Johri Shab.

With exceptional mastery in Khayal Gayaki of typical Indore Gharana style, Dr. Sunita also learnt and was influenced by Ustad Hafeez Ahmed Khan of Rampur Gharana, Ustad Naseer Ahmed Khan Delhi and smt. Laxmi Shankar. Amidst her boundless repertoire of styles and patterns, be it the Khyal or the Thumri or the Dadra, the Kajari or Chaiti sung anywhere anytime, there is only one constant factor that underline each performance that is the rare indomitable melody and magnetism of Dr. Sunita`s voice and personality.

Zuberi has learned the Indian Classical Music by which he has completed his "Prabhakar" and "Visharad" degree in vocal music.

Association with Ustaad Farooq Khan sahab

Ustaad Farooq Khan Sahab is one of the greatest Table maestro in Uttar Pradesh.

Ustaad sahab has taught many professional tabla players of the Indian Film Industry. Romin learned tabla from Ustaad sahab for almost a year in 2012. He told Romin to play typical types of taals. Romin got his Best Young Tabla Player Award in his school for the song "madhuban mein radhika naache re" taught by Ustaad Farooq Khan sahab. Zuberi said during in his interview to the Breaking News Network in 2013.

Association with Lawrence Parsi

Mr. Lawrence Parsi is the famous keyboardist and singer of Meerut who works in St. Mary’s Academy. Parsi has worked with some great Singers of the music industry such as Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi, and Mika Singh.

Association with Mr. Ajay Kumar

Mr. Ajay Kumar is one of the finest Tabla Player in Meerut and he works in Dewan Public School. Under his guidance Zuberi learned to play Tabla in 2010.
