The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ozámis is an ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in the Philippines. Ozamis is the Archdiocese in the Province of Misamis Occidental, on the island of Mindanao.

History

The Diocese of Ozámis was erected on 27 January 1951, for the whole province of Misamis Occidental. The Archiocese comprises the following diocese: Dipolog, Iligan, Marawi. On February 17, 1971 Pope Paul VI elevated the Prelature of Ozámis into a diocese with the Most Reverend Jesus Varela serving as the first sitting Bishop. On the 24th of January 1983, the diocese was elevated to an archdiocese.

    Most Rev. Jesus Dosado became the first Metropolitan Archbishop. Upon his resignation, he became Archbishop Emeritus. He was succeeded by Most Rev. Martin Jumoad on November 30, 2016.

    Most Rev. Martin Jumoad is the second and current Metropolitan Archbishop of the archdiocese.
