Robot Zonda

Formation

Robot Zonda was formed in 2006 at Buenos Aires and keeps in activity at the present, performing hundreds of shows each year, both in their home town Buenos Aires and in other Argentina provinces and abroad.

EP

A short time after its formation, Robot Zonda released its first unsigned EP, called Robot Zonda and started to perform live in different stages in Buenos Aires, and gave its first shows in other provinces, presenting its new songs. The main shows - those first years - were "Festival Sónica" at The Roxy, Festival Ahora! (receiving an honorable prize from Buenos Aires government, for its artistic quality and innovative sound), Festival PUMA Urban Art (with Tan Biónica) and XPOX (Extreme Sports Exposition).

In 2008, Robot Zonda released its first official video, from the song Somático, belonging to its first EP. That video was aired in main music channels, like MTV, Much Music and Canal de la Música.

MTV Latinamerica 09 Prize

In 2009, Robot Zonda was nominated for MTV Latinamerica Prize 2009, together with other 5 unsigned artists selected all across Latinamerica.

Schools Tour

In the year 2009, Robot Zonda started a Schools Tour, performing live shows every day during 2 months in more than 44 schools at Buenos Aires City. The success of this idea, made Robot Zonda repeat the Schools Tour every year, including more schools and extending it to Buenos Aires Province too.

First LP Album

After Schools Tour 2009 finished, Robot Zonda continued performing at different stages, while simultaneously recording their first LP album. That album would contain the same 5 songs that were included in Robot ZOnda (EP), together with 5 new songs. Robot Zonda's first album was released at the beginning of 2010 and had a big impact in local press, which covered not only the album release, but also the success of the recent Schools Tour 2009.

First album success between local press and Robot Zonda's public, took the group to the next step and made the album available at music stores all across Argentina, Chile, Colombia and México. Due to this, Robot Zonda increased their fan base and cleared the way for new shows at Buenos Aires provinces and at other countries.

After first album release, Robot Zonda filmed 5 official videos from songs in that album, between 2010 and 2012. All of them were aired at main TV music channels in Argentina, Chile and México.

National and International tours

From year 2009 on, Robot Zonda started to perform at lots of stages all across the country, visiting many times La Plata city, Mar del Plata, Córdoba, San Martín and Mendoza.

Robot Zonda also went on International tours, visiting Chile twice, playing a total of 5 shows in the neighbour country, including two shows in the popular Blondie discothèque.

Main Shows

Robot Zonda has performed in several stages and festivals all across Argentina. Some of the main shows were at Hot Festival (with Catupecu Machu and Massive Attack among others), Código País Festival (at Hipódromo de Buenos Aires), "PUMA Urban Art" Festival (at Buenos Aires Design), Sónica Festival (at The Roxy and organized by Speedy, Telefónica and Pop Art), "Rock & Barrios" Festival, XPOX (Extreme Sports Exposition), Ahora! Festival, Offside Festival (at Anfiteatro Mataderos), Ciudad Emergente Festival (at Centro Cultural Recoleta), "Rock en el Rojas" festival, "3D Animation Rocks" festival (at Centro Cultural Borges), 3 Groove, 3 Niceto, Salón Real, The Roxy (Los Arcos) and Plaza de Mayo.

Uff

During 2012, Robot Zonda started recording its second studio album, named Uff, which would contain 11 new songs and was launched on March 2013. Despite this, before releasing that album, Robot Zonda made an "Uff Tour", performing 25 live shows in only 3 months, introducing some of its new songs, that would be included in the new album.

Tribute song to Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez

In February 2013, Robot Zonda wrote a tribute song to the current box world champion, Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez. The song had a big impact in specialized world press and was used by Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez himself to celebrate his 38th birthday.
