Radio career

Burke started out as a DJ on the local student radio station Oxygen FM in Oxford when he was 14. After 2 years, he was offered a job as a DJ on rival regional station, Fox FM. After another 2 years, aged 18, he moved to London to begin a 3-year degree in film & television production at the University of Westminster in London. It was at this point that he was talent-spotted by national radio station Virgin Radio and offered his own nightly radio show – where he became the youngest DJ on national radio.

Over the next 7 years, he moved to the weekend breakfast show and then weekday early breakfast while also covering the afternoon and drive-time shifts. Along with writing, producing and presenting his own show, he also conducted interviews with musicians and celebrities (including Kaiser Chiefs, The Fray, Jordan and The Killers) and presented on-stage at live events such as The Royal Albert Hall and V Festival. Between 2005 & 2006, Robin was the writer/producer/host of the Hit40UK chart show, which was syndicated from London every week on Worldspace and XM Satellite radio. He also represented the networks as a live presenter at UK based events including Live8, The Brits and at Abbey Road recording sessions.

Since 2002, Burke has been a recognisable voice-over artist for TV and radio commercials and promos. He was represented by Wise Buddah Talent between 2004 and 2009. He is currently represented for voice-over work by Voiceovers Ltd. in the UK and DPN Talent in the US.

Television and film career

After completing a degree in film & television production at the University of Westminster, he began work at Channel 4 television as a continuity writer/announcer and was on-air on the network's film channel, Film4. After moving into the promo department as a writer/producer/editor - he has since worked Channel5 and BBC, making high-profile on-air promos for the networks. Burke left the BBC in 2010 to relocate to the US as a film trailer writer/creative editor in Los Angeles. 2 years later he returned to London as creative director of Ignition Creative UK, specialising in promos and trailers for both UK and US studios.

Cops and Robbers

He founded his own production company, Cops and Robbers Media, in the UK in July 2008 and then incorporated a subsidiary in the US, Cops and Robbers Creative, in March 2010. The companies are described as a "creative collective – a means to collaborate with audio and visual production talent and work for brands and clients internationally".
