Robert Todd (born 1963) is a Boston-based American filmmaker, known primarily for his short poetic experimental films. He teaches film production at Emerson College. His films have screened at international film festivals including The Rotterdam International Film Festival, The New York Film Festival, The Ann Arbor Film Festival, Media City Festival, and others.

Films
Todd has worked in a variety of genres and methods, including fiction drama, traditional documentary, creative non-fiction, lyrical abstraction, and structural experimentation. His films are often compared to those of such lyrical filmmakers as Nathaniel Dorsky and Peter Hutton. They have been described as intimate and deeply personal works.
Since 1999 he has been working nearly exclusively in 16mm. In addition to his short films, he has produced several long format documentary works, including In Loving Memory (2005), on the subject of the Death Penalty, and Master Plan (2011) which links incarceration with general issues of housing in America. In the past few years he has been exhibiting works in expanded cinema contexts, creating works for performance with musicians at various festivals and other venues.

He has received grants and awards from various festivals and foundations, including the LEF Foundation, The Brother Thomas Award from The Boston Foundation, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
