Marriage and family
He was married to Theresa Savage. His grandson, MiAndrew Rachal, was the victim of a homicide in 2012.
Politics and legacy
Savage served two terms in the mid-1990s. The City of Emeryville named its recreation center, The Robert L. Savage Recreation Center, in his honor.
