Name Robert Brightiffe | ||
Robert Brightiffe (c. 1666 – 22 September 1749) was an English barrister, Member of Parliament, and Recorder.
He was the son of Edmund Brightiffe, gentleman, of Baconsthorpe, Norfolk, was educated at Baconsthorpe and Holt School, and was admitted to the lists of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, on 24 March 1680 at the age of sixteen. He matriculated at Cambridge in 1680 and entered the Middle Temple on 29 May 1682.
Brightiffe sat as one of the two Members of Parliament for Norwich between 1715 and 1734. He was Recorder of Norwich from 1737 to 1743 and died on 22 September 1749.
