Biography

Extreme skiing pioneer turned professional ski mountaineer and real estate entrepreneur, Rob DesLauriers has skied from the Summit or Mt. Everest, brokered real estate transactions, and developed two luxury condominium hotels at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

As a professional extreme skier and extreme ski from 1988 to 2000, DesLauriers starred in over 20 ski films and produced 5 ski films as a member of The North Face Alpine Team. Additionally, Rob served as the founder and director of worldwide Extreme Skiing Advanced Ski Clinics 1991-2000. Rob has skied from to top of 5 of the "7 summits" including Everest in October 2006; Mt Vinson, Antarctica; Mt. Elbrus, Russia; Kilimanjaro, Tanzania; and Denali, Alaska.

In 2000, Rob shifted focus to the development of the Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa, a 145 key, 95 condominium unit, AAA Four Diamond condominium hotel resort located at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

In 2003, Rob founded Teton Village Realty. As Responsible Broker Rob oversaw 3 offices with 16 brokers. He sold Teton Village Realty in 2009 to Sotheby's International Realty where Rob is a broker today. Rob has brokered over $500 million in commercial, residential and hotel real estate over the past 10 years. His specialty is centered on Teton Village's ski and golf real estate with an overriding expertise in hospitality assets.

In 2008, Rob completed his second Jackson Hole hotel development project with the opening of Hotel Terra. Terra is a Silver-LEED certified condominium hotel developed in sophisticated mountain boutique style.

With a degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Rob brings a wealth of experience in hotel development and building programming, property and asset management, debt and equity raise and structuring, hotel management and real estate sales.

DesLauriers early start with skiing and resort management began at the age of two on the slopes of Bolton Valley Ski Resort in Vermont. His parents owned, operated and managed the beloved ski area where Rob and his siblings skied every day. This foundation laid groundwork for Rob’s future ski feats ranging from appearances in Warren Miller ski films to a coveted Powder Magazine title as a “Top 50 Skier in North America.” Rob DesLauriers is also an avid cinematographer, serving as co-founder of Straight Up Films with his brother Eric. DesLauriers documented the first snowboard descent of Artesonraju in Peru, and in 1999 released a backcountry adventure documentary "Higher on the Mountain." DesLauriers and his brother co-wrote Ski the whole Mountain, a book on how to ski any terrain.

DesLauriers met his wife, Kit in 1999 while on a mountaineering trip to Mount Belukha in Siberia. He accompanied her on her quest to become the first person to ski the highest summits on all seven continents, providing video documentation of her feat. With Kit, DesLauriers has skied down Vinson Massif in Antarctica, and Mount Everest. The couple live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with their children.
