Purpose and Motivation

The purpose of Road Bandit's travel includes recreation and tourism, research travel for the gathering of information, for holiday to visit people, and volunteer travel for charity event coverage and fund raisers. Travel may occur by human-powered transport such as walking or bicycling, or with recreational vehicle. Motives to travel include education, entertainment, relaxation, discovery and exploration, interpersonal relationships and getting to know other cultures. Road Bandit's travel may be local, regional, national (domestic) or international. Road Bandit shoots life on the road, and documents the people and places he experiences. Followers, called "Banditos," can vote for the next spot in the United States to be hit by the bandit. Banditos can vote for the next location, suggest activities, festivals and monuments for Road Bandit to visit. The interactive website provides a 'bandit-tracker' to see when and where Road Bandit will be next. Banditos get an interactive daily feed of life on the road, and a weekly episode, allowing people to experience a real time, reality documentary of life on the road.

RV features

Road Bandit travels in a 24-foot class C RV better known as 'Betsy'. 'Betsy' is equipped with a solar panel on the roof and an inverter to allow for extra power when additional power sources are not available. Road Bandit's recreational vehicle includes a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom and a living room.

RV lifestyle

The RV lifestyle is made up of those interested in traveling and camping rather than living in one location, as well as by vacationers. There are a large and growing number of people who live full-time in their RV/motorhome; these are known as Fulltimers. Road Bandit is a Fulltimer. There is another subculture of the RV lifestyle known as workampers. These are people that work at the campgrounds/RV parks they stay at for site and perks. The goal of Road Bandit is to bring life on the road as a full-time RVer into the lives of those who may not be able to break away from the day to day and hit the road.
