History

Riverstone station opened on 1 December 1864. The original railway station was made of wood and lasted until 1886, when the building replaced by a brick structure.

On 22 May 1975, it became the terminus of the electrified line, with passengers changing to CPH and later 600/700 class railcars for the remainder of the journey to Richmond. On 17 August 1991, the line was electrified to Richmond.
