Rino Passigato (born 29 March 1944, in Bovolone) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman, who is the current Apostolic Nuncio to Portugal.

Biography

Passigato was ordained a Priest on the 29 Jun 1968 in Verona, Italy. In 1991 he was appointed to be the Titular Archbishop of Nova Caesaris and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio to Burundi. By 1996 he was Apostolic Nuncio to Bolivia and in 1999 he had moved on to Peru. On 8 November 2008 he took up his current post in Portugal that had been vacated by Archbishop Alfio Rapisarda, who had retired. He also served in the Apostolic Nunciature in Canberra (Australia)in the late 1970s and also in the United Kingdom under Apostolic Nuncio Barbaroto.
