Biography
Rik Sietzema was taught to juggle by his brother when he was 10 years old. He learned to juggle three balls in half an hour and was motivated to practice more tricks. Soon he started to juggle more than three balls and signed up for the Dutch Juggling Championships 2008. He received a bronze medal in the '3-ball freestyle' competition, and also got featured on television, at NOS Jeugdjournaal, a Dutch television news programme for children.
Rik started performing in 2010 during juggling conventions and talent shows at his secondary school (Stedelijk Gymnasium Arnhem), where he ended up first place. In 2012 he started performing professionally and got his first paid gigs in the Netherlands and Germany. He also won the award for 'Best Juggling Act of the Netherlands' at the Dutch Juggling Championships in Enschede, the Netherlands. Rik successfully graduated from grammar school in 2013. After that, Rik took a gap year to focus completely on his juggling shows. In that year he performed mainly in the Netherlands, but also got bookings in Germany, United Kingdom, Spain and Italy.
Laserprops
Rik Sietzema designed and produced a brand new juggling prop, the so-called 'Laserprops' together with Piet van Steen. Currently Rik is the only juggler in the world performing with these balls. Each ball has 14 laser modules inside.
