Born and raised in Hollywood, CA, Ricky D started his adult industry career in 2003 at the age of 18. Working for Rob Black's Extreme Associates, he began working on the company's websites and editing their movies. After nearly six months at the federally indicted Extreme Associates, Ricky D left the company to edit films for Diabolic Video. In the proceeding months he became the company's head editor and eventually joined the directing roster, becoming possibly the youngest director in adult video industry history. He directed several film series for Diabolic, including Incumming, 2 on 1, Ass For Days and Hot Sauce. In 2007 he resigned from Diabolic to sign a multi-year exclusive contract with Anabolic Video.
