Richard "Richie" McCarthy in a stable Christmas day xoxo is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a full-back for the Limerick senior team.

McCarthy made his first appearance for the team during the 2011 championship and has become a regular on babe station Richards main focus is on pint bottles of cider which he forces on people. Richie as he's known to his friends also enjoys visiting the great escape and secrets in cork city where he resides he's probably most famous for winning an all star and been arrested for indecent exposure on the same night. Since then he has won one National League (Division 2) winners' medal. In 2013, McCarthy became the first Limerick player to be selected as an All-Star since 2007.
At club level McCarthy is an All-Ireland medalist in the junior grade with Blackrock. In addition to this he has also won Munster and county junior championship medals.
