Richard A. Kunin (pronounced Kun-yin; born 1932), is an American physician specializing in orthomolecular medicine. Kunin has written books and articles on nutrition and orthomolecular medicine. He was a co-founder of the Orthomolecular Medical Society with Dr. Linus Pauling in 1976. Along with Richard Huemer, MD, he heads the Society for Orthomolecular Health-Medicine (OHM), which conducts an annual conference on nutrition science in San Francisco, California.

Richard Kunin, MD
Early life and education
Kunin, at age 21, received his MD degree in 1955 from the University of Minnesota and completed psychiatric residency training in 1959 at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic. Kunin was a National Institute of Health special fellow in neurophysiology at Stanford University.
Career
After completing his psychiatric residency, Kunin served for two years in the United States Army Medical Corps. In addition to being a diplomate in psychiatry, Dr. Kunin has been an instructor at the Cornell University School of Medicine and the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific.
He is a member of the board of directors of the National Health Federation.
