Career and Design
As the former Chief Creative Officer of the Brown Jordan Company for over 20 years, Frinier has been recognized around the world by professional colleagues, trade organizations, media and consumers for contributing to the creation of the elevated and emotional level of outdoor furnishings that removed boundaries in residential, contract and hospitality design between interior and exterior furnishings and spaces, while fueling and evolving the concepts of the outdoor room, resort living, resort-at-home, balance in the workplace through the use of performance furnishings, and balanced and slow living lifestyle trends.
In 2002, he formed a design consultancy in California along with his wife and creative partner, Catherine Frinier, where they have continued to serve and collaborate with an international clientele through licensed and co-branded collections, including indoor/outdoor furniture, accessories, lighting, and hundreds of textile designs.
The designer's range of work encompasses furniture designs including modern to contemporary and traditional to classic forms, and his work has been the recipient of over 90 product design and career achievement awards as designated and presented by ASID, IDSA, IIDA, ASFD, SCFMA/ICFA, reddot, and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
