Background

RCI made pioneering contributions towards successful flight testing of India's maiden Inter Continental Ballistic Missile Agni 5. Subsequently after the successful mission, its present Director, Satheesh said “RCI has developed complete avionics with on-board computers, inter-face units, the navigation systems, control systems, batteries and power systems, telemetry and telecommunication components and antennas. All these systems and redundant navigation mechanism has taken Agni-5 to target within few meters of accuracy after travelling more than 5,000 km.”

The Research Centre Imarat is a global frontrunner in developing avionics and navigation systems for missiles. RCI is the leading laboratory which has successfully spearheaded the Indo-Israel joint development Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) programme and had hat-trick success in its first three consecutive missions.

MSRAM Program

Hon'ble President of India and Hon'ble Defence Minister congratulated the entire team behind this success. MRSAM Programme Director Dr G Satheesh Reddy praised his team behind the successful missions and said “It is a quantum jump in air defence capability, the missile successfully intercepted a manoeuvring air-breathing target mimicking an attacking combat aircraft. "It was a perfect launch achieving all the mission parameters”.
