Rent a Coop is an American business that delivers a pair of hens, a coop, feed and a dish of water to customers. The rental period can range from four weeks to two years.
History
Tyler Phillips and Diana Samata started the business in Potomac, Maryland, in early 2012 with less than $50 by using salvaged wood, hinges and relatives' tools to make their first chicken coop. In June 2014, the business had 70 chicken coops and incubators with customers. Phillips and Samata plan to franchise the business.
