Valencia
Renan joined Spanish club Valencia on August 13, 2008. He made his debut for Valencia CF in a 3–0 win against Real Mallorca. He has had a great start to his Valencia CF career and has been their number one keeper, but on January 20, 2009 he sustained a groin injury in a match against Athletic de Bilbao and was ruled out for six weeks, enabling veteran César Sánchez to step in.
