Refika Yılmaz (born June 19, 1990) is a Turkish women's ice hockey player. She plays in the Turkish Women's Ice Hockey League for ODTÜ SK, and is also a member of the Turkey women's national ice hockey team. The 1.66 m (5 ft 5 12 in) tall sportswoman at 57 kg (126 lb) plays in the defence position shooting right-handed. Yılmaz is a teacher.

Early life

At age eight, Refika Yılmaz received a pair of inline skates from her mother as a gift. She was discovered while performing inline skating on the streets. At age 14, she began ice hockey playing.

Yılmaz graduated in 2015 from the Faculty of Sports Science at Hacettepe University in Ankara. She works as a teacher of physical education.

Club

Yılmaz entered ice hockey team of Police Academy SK in Ankara. She played for her alma mater's ice hockey team and Milenyum Paten SK before she transferred to ODTÜ SK, an ice hockey club sponsored by the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ).

International

Yılmaz was admitted to the national ice hockey team already at age 16. She is a member of the Turkey women's national ice hockey team and currently serves as their captain. She took part at the 2007 World Championships Div. IV matches in Romania, 2011 Winter Universiade in Turkey, 2011 World Championships Div. V matches in Bulgaria, 2015 Women's World Championships Div. II B qualification matches in Hong Kong, and 2016 Women's World Championship Div. II Group B matches in Spain.
