Recklinghausen II is one of the 299 single member constituencies (German: Wahlkreis) used for the German parliament, the Bundestag. It is one of sixty four electoral districts in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The constituency elects one representative under the mixed member proportional representation (MMP) system. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 122. It consists of the towns and cities of Marl, Datteln, Haltern, Herten and Oer-Erkenschwick, all located in the county of Recklinghausen.

Contents

The constituency was created for the 2002 election, replacing the former Recklinghausen II – Borken I electoral district. It has been won by the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) since its creation. The 2002 and 2005 elections were won by Waltraud Lehn and the 2009 and 2013 elections by Michael Peter Groß.
