Ranjini Kalappa is an Indian architect. Kalappa received her Bachelor of Architecture from Bombay University and her Master of Architecture from the Pratt Institute. She lived and worked for a number of years in New York City before returning to Mumbai. There, she opened an architecture firm with her sister, Brinda Somaya.

After both serving as apprentices in the United States, the sisters returned to India and formed their own architecture and interior design firm, in Mumbai, in 1978. Together, they have designed buildings and interior environments for hotels, private homes, swimming pools and factories. They designed the West End Hotel project in Bangalore, which is an 18-acre space within the city that features luxury accommodations, convention space, a health club and restaurants. Their work is described as contemporary, yet reflecting the styles of Lutvens and Moghul architecture. The sisters describe their work as finding influence in these older design styles, while demonstrating 1980s socio-economic issues. Today, the firm has three offices in India and more than fifty employees.
