Quicksilver microlight at rangitata island aerodrome


Rangitata Island Aerodrome is a small airfield located on Rangitata Island halfway between Timaru and Ashburton. It is owned and operated by the Brodie family and is home to the Geraldine Flying Group, De Havillands over New Zealand collection, New Zealand Microlight heritage museum, Shadows of Hawks World War I replica collection and the Ross Brodie Memorial museum and library.

Geraldine Flying Group

Geraldine Flying Group is the local Geraldine area flying club. It has over 100 members from all over New Zealand and even a few from other countries such as the U.K. & Netherlands. Geraldine Flying Group has two currently airworthy Rans Aircraft Rans S-6es Coyote II trike ZK-JHZ & Rans S-10 Sakota ZK-ECA with another three being assembled (as of June 2011) Rans S-6es Coyote II trike ZK-RHZ, Rans S-6es Coyote II taildragger ZK-RIA and a Rans S-7 ZK-SVN.
