Raleigh station is an Amtrak train station in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is served by four daily passenger trains: the Silver Star, two Piedmont services, and the Carolinian. The street address is 320 West Cabarrus Street, and is located just to the southwest of downtown Raleigh.

Contents

Southern Railway built the station in 1950 after leaving the 1890 Raleigh Union Station. The Southern station was not used for passenger trains from 1964 to 1985, when a pending abandonment of track by CSX Transportation forced Amtrak to move there from the former Seaboard Air Line station north of downtown. The Seaboard station was subsequently repurposed as a retail space and a restaurant.

The station is Amtrak's fourth busiest in the Southeastern United States, just behind Sanford station, New Orleans station and Charlotte station. It will be replaced by the new Raleigh Union Station project in 2018.
