About
An erudite Academician, Researcher and Consultant with high caliber and extensive experience of over two decades in result oriented research, consultancy and training in the global Graphic Arts Industry and academia. He is a part and parcel of Indian graphic communication industry as a friend, guide and guru. Possess a doctorate in Printing & TQM under Mechanical Engineering stream, with extensive travel experience around the world for print consulting, projects, twinning programmes, research activities, conferences and exhibitions. Member of many prestigious research associations and bodies. Recipient of many reputed awards including Samman Award (presented by Dr K Rosaiha, Governor of Tamil Nadu (AIFMP - Diamond Jubilee) and PIA-GATF Global Academic Excellence Award (Popularly known as Oscar in Printing). Authored and published many research papers in national and international reputed journals. PhD Guide, Visiting and Adjunct professor to many Universities & Colleges in India and Abroad. A freelance science journalist and regular column writer to magazines, journals on various topics. Currently associated with BIRLA group (from July 10 of 2013) in the “Education & Research” port folio as the Director of the prestigious institution “TIT & S (The Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences)” an initiation by Padma Vibhushan Dr.G D Birla in 1943.
Achievements
Contributions of Prof.Dr.Rajendrakumar Anayath Specific to colour science, standardisation and education
1) Established one of the best colour research laboratories in India (in consultation with “X-Rite, Pantone, AGS and Kodak”) at Manipal University.
2) Initiated interdisciplinary research in colour science with Dental and Medical College.
3) Introduced advanced colour science and redefined the complete curriculum in the print education in India
4) Conducted more than 50 colour standardisation programmes to Indian graphic arts industry
5) Associated/Worked well with both FOGRA and UGRA on bringing colour standards to India.(Reference: Dr.Eduard Neufeld & Erwin Widmer)
6) Organised number of programmes in SAARC countries and Middle East on standardisation and colour management.
7) Published specific findings and articles in standardisation especially by implementing PAN 4C technique and a colour profile based on PAN 4C printing inks that enabled us to produce highly smooth gradients (first time in India) with Dieter Kirchner later adopted by Heidelberg Druck Machine.
8) Guiding a PhD student in the “Hybrid Colour Model Development” for graphic arts industry.
9) Developed a 38 hrs course programme in “Necessity of understanding human limitations in perception to become a perfect graphic artist” for the industry and academia.
10) Based on this contribution to Indian graphic arts industry “AIFMP(All India Federation of Master Printers) felicitated him with “SAMMAN AWARD” during the 60 years of its existence (Diamond Jubilee) in 2013
