Rajashree Choudhury (born Rajashree Chakrabarti on May 7, 1965) is a Yoga Therapist and founder of the United States Yoga Federation (USA Yoga) and the International Yoga Sports Federation (IYSF) to promote Yoga Asana with one of its goals being the qualification of Yoga as a sport in the Olympic Family.

Career

Choudhury won the first National Yoga Championship held by the Yoga Federation of India in 1979, followed by consecutive years as National Yoga Champion and won the first Bishnu Charan Ghosh Cup (between Men & Women) held in Calcutta in 1982. In 1985 She represented Mrs. India in the Mrs. World Pageant and was crowned most photogenic.
Private life

In 1984 she married Bikram Choudhury and moved from India to Los Angeles, California, where she assisted her husband in creating the instructor training program for his chain of Bikram Yoga studios. In December 2015, Rajashree filed for divorce from Bikram citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in May 2016.
