Early life
David was born in White Rock, British Columbia on June 16. She attended Semiahmoo Secondary School in Surrey, British Columbia. She graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2010 after studying Radio Broadcasting. While a student there, she hosted a Vancouver community show called City Lights with Novus Entertainment, and was an on-air announcer with CFML-FM 107.9 The Evolution (the British Columbia Institute of Technology's campus radio station). She also appears frequently in Matthew Santoro Vlogs' videos. Her mother originates from England, U.K.
Career
In 2011, David began working as a host with Bestfan TV, a celebrity-style entertainment website. She is best known for hosting the Canadian entertainment show Your World This Week for Rogers Communications.She has interviewed celebrities such as The Rock, Eva Longoria and Jake Gyllenhaal.
After leaving Rogers Communications in 2015, Rachel took a year off to learn more about digital marketing, an industry she took great interest in. The digital marketing industry is surrounded by online Influencers. Rachel took note of this trend and travelled the world connecting and collaborating with online influencers. She has attended Youtube conventions like VidCon, Playlist Live and Buffer Festival.
During that year, Rachel decided to become a content creator herself. Her Youtube channel shows her long list of connections with some of the biggest Youtubers and celebrities. She has done video collaborations with JusReign, Matt Santoro, Troye Sivan and Toronto Raptor's Patrick Patterson. Rachel's online popularity quickly grew and she began doing brand deals. Through this experience she realized that a lot of brands were interested in working with influencers, but they did not know how to create and build relationships with them. That is how Rachel's Influencer Talent Relations Agency Hashtag Communications came to be.
Rachel founded Hashtag Communications in 2016. Her agency eliminates the communication disconnect between brands and influencers. She connects brands with some of the top influencers. The agency's roster includes Matthew Santoro, Andrew Huang, 4YallEntertainment and JusReign.
Youtube Channel
In 2017, Rachel created her own Youtube show #WhattaWeek. In this talk show, Rachel shares some of the crazy experiences she's had throughout the week and features segments where she does giveaways and interviews other Youtubers.
