Dr.R.Sundaravadivelu, PhD.,F.N.A.E is an Indian practicing engineer in the field of ocean engineering and a professor at the Department of Ocean Engineering,Indian Institute of Technology Madras.He has 30 years of teaching, research and consultancy experience in IIT Madras, working with a focus on Offshore,Coastal,Ports and Harbor structures.

Academia

R. Sundaravadivelu completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at Annamalai University in 1977.He completed his M.Tech in Structural engineering and obtained PhD from IIT Madras in 1979 and 1985 respectively.He began his career at IIT Madras as a senior scientific officer in 1982, became an assistant professor in March 1990, associate professor in May 1995 and a professor in September 2000.He has published 45 Journal papers, 100 international and 46 national conference papers.He has guided 17 PhD, 14 M.S and 19 M.Tech thesis.Prof.R.Sundaravadivelu has successfully carried out over 200 consultancy projects and 7 sponsored projects.
