The Quran Knowledge Competition, started in 2008 by "Quranic Thoughts" in India, is a prize awarding competition which encourages people to learn the Quran in depth.
Contents
Various prizes will be awarded for those who will attain the highest marks in this competition.
Besides the major prizes every participants who scores more than 90 marks will be awarded Rs.1000 for each mark. Thus, potentially every participant is a winner of at least Rs. 10,000 even if s/he could not get big prizes.
Organizer
Afkar-e-Qurani, an international magazine based purely on Quranic Teachings, is the organizer of the competition and has tied up with various other people and organisations. Peace TV is in the queue of proposed channels with AlresalaTV as channel partner. Furthermore, many national and international newspapers including the Brunei Times, The Tehran Times, The Gulf News have agreed support as media partners.
Muslim Knowledge of the Quran
It is found in different surveys that Muslims don't bother to read the Quran. Even the people who called themselves professionals are often found illiterate as far as the quranic teachings are concerned.
Many Muslims have a misconception regarding the Qur'an that this is the burden or duty for which only the Ulemas are responsible.
Economic Factors
Economic pressures mean that many Muslims are only concerned and engaged to earn their bread and butter. Those who are free from such financial issues have their different schedules excluding the Quranic Teachings.

Participating in this programme is simple. Since 2010, it has entered into the cyber world in order to remove any physical boundaries.
