History

The Quad Cities area had a modern semi-professional/minor league football team starting in 2009 when the Quad City Stallions football team started operations.  In the three years of existence the Stallions played regional opponents and made it to the MidStates Football League championship game in 2010 where they lost to the Iowa Sharks.

In 2011, the Quad City Stallions football team ended operations and left an untapped market for football in the Quad Cities. Two board members and players from the Quad City Stallions organization created a new organization to better serve the Quad Cities. Mark Underwood & friends launched the Quad City Raiders with specific goals for their first five years of operation. With established partnerships with Davenport Parks and Recreation, Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities and the Scott County Family YMCA, the Raiders work to give back to the community throughout the year.

The Raiders keep approximately forty - fifty players. Being set-up as a not for profit organization there are no wages or salaries for any of the players, staff or coaches. With a coaching staff that boasts many years of experience at all levels of competitive football, the Raiders are positioning themselves to compete with the best teams in the nation.

The inaugural season for the Quad City Raiders kicked off in May 2012 on their home field of Ericson field on the beautiful campus of Augustana College. As a new team the first year was a success as the team went 6-4 in league play.

The Raiders share the Quad Cities market with another semi-pro football team, the Wolfpack, who are in a different League (Midwest Football Alliance). A newly inaugurated Quad City Bowl began in 2014 and is hoped to continue annually.
