Pushpa Srivathsan, is a Saraswati Veena artist from Veenai Dhanammal bani. She has pursued music since the age of 25 and has been trained under the legendary exponent of the Dhanammal bani, Shri Rangaramanuja Ayyangar. She is one of the very few people who play their renditions on the lines of Dhanam school of music. The speciality of her music is playing without plectrums, and playing on the veena as well as singing along.

History
Smt. Pushpa Srivathsan was born to Smt. Lakshmi and Shri Pattangi Venkatavaradan in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on 27 December 1944. She started learning music when she was 25. After a brief training from Shri Rangaramanuja Ayyangar, Smt Pushpa dedicated her life to learning the Veena and expressing her divine qualities through musical renditions. A self-learned exponent, Smt Pushpa submits her music to Shri Tyagaraja Swami whom she worships as her Ishtadevata and has written several books that express her devotion to her lord.
Personal life
She is married to Shri N. V. Srivathsan and has two daughters, Radhika Vathsan and Gayatri Vathsan, who are trained by her on the saraswati veena.
