History
Paul Christian is a man who lost his legs in a subway accident. Years later, he was almost injured during a battle involving the Green Lantern Kyle Rayner. To make amends, Kyle used his Power Ring to give Paul new legs. Following another accident, it affected Paul's willpower causing him to lose his legs.
During the Underworld Unleashed storyline, Paul was desperate to get his legs back. He accepted Neron's offer to regain his legs and had his powers augmented. As the green flame-emitting Purgatory, he was sent to attack Green Lantern. After failing twice, Purgatory joins Neron's victims in Hell.
Powers and abilities
Neron gave Paul Christian the ability to emit green flame as an attack.
