Punon

Punon (Hebrew: פּוּנֹן‎‎) is one of the stations of the Exodus mentioned in the Hebrew Bible; a place where the ancient Israelites stopped in their mythical migration from Egypt. It presumably refers to the region in southern Jordan now known as Wadi Faynan, which in biblical times was a major center for copper mining, and has been specifically identified with the Iron Age settlement of Khirbat Faynan.
