Film shooting

Pudipalli was a popular film location for Tollywood in the 1990s and 1980s due to its picturesque location along the eastern Ghats on the banks of the Godavari River. Films included Trisulam, Aapad Bandhavudu, Bangaru bullodu, Pranam, Okka magadu, and Naya kadam (a remake of Bollywood's Trisulam). The village is now less popular for filming as it has become more developed, and fewer films use village settings.

Migration of people

Over the last decade, the Pudipalli village has seen lot of human emigration to nearby towns and cities. The primary reason for this is the planned Polavaram irrigation project. Pudipalli is among 276 villages that would be displaced by the project.
