History
The project was founded in 1994 by Michael Kjeldgaard and Robert Christensen. In the beginning, their sound was heavily inspired by the German trance scene and their goal was to produce vibrating music, a hybrid between melodic trance and acid. The guys performed at different venues around Denmark but couldn't get a record deal, so in 1995, Christensen left Psygone and Kjeldgaard began working on a new and much improved sound, which landed him his first record deal on Hypnotic Records.
In 1996, Jan Bachmann joined Psygone.
Their first album Optimystique was released in 1997. The following year, a follow-up, Organique, was ready for release but was never released as an album, but several tracks did appear on various compilations.
Psygone has performed at festivals and goa events in Denmark alongside artists such as Pascal F.E.O.S., Der Dritte Raum, Armitage Shanks and Tom Wax, among others.
In 2008, Psygone planned a comeback with new releases.
